HOW TO BUILD AN INDUSTRIAL PASTA PRODUCTION FACTORY?

1) Do you have a wheat Flour Or Semolina factory?
As the raw material of Pasta you only need 2 thinks , 1. Flour or Semolina and the 2. Drinkable Water.

a) If yes;
Please go on the next step.

b) If no;
You need to decide that;
- Buy flour or semolina from an other manufacturer. This way is possible to use in small capacity production less then HMX 600 (600 kg/hour) lines.
- Establish a flour factory with the capacity of 145% of your planned Pasta production capacity.

2) Decide your pasta type? Long?, Short? Or Both of them?
In industrial pasta production systems, the drying systems are continuous dryers so for short cut you need 1 line and for long cut you need an other line.

a) Short Cut Pasta Production Line ( Macaroni Line )
b) Long Cut Pasta Production Line ( Spaghetti Line )
c) 2 Lines to produce both of them.

* Advice; For small budget investments ( Less than 1 million Usd ) starting with only short-cut line is better.

3) Decide your production capacity of pasta production;

In industrial Pasta Production Lines, the production system is continuous system. And in continuous pasta production lines you need to work as 24 hours as possible as it can be ( normally it is possible to work shorter periods but the correct way is working continously. In this lines capacities are spoken as Kg per 1 hour. As Hemaks Pasta production lines we have the below written pasta production capacity lines in our standart production.
a) As Short Cut Pasta Line; 200 Kg/h, 300 Kg/h, 400 Kg/h, 600 Kg/h, 800 Kg/h, 1000 Kg/h, 1500 Kg/h, 2250 Kg/h, 3000 Kg/h, 4500 Kg/h, 6000 kg/hour capacities.

b) As Long Cut Pasta Line ; 300 Kg/h, 500 Kg/h, 1000 Kg/h, 2000 Kg/h, 3000 Kg/hour capacities.

3)  For making the production in a pasta line ( pasta factory ) you need some other equipment that support s your pasta production line as written below;

3-1) Flour feeding system
Note; Need to select 30% bigger then needed)

3-1-1) For small lines ( Less then HMX 600) ;
- Feeding bunker with vibro-motor
- Automatically start-stop screw conveyor

3-1-2) For bigger capacities by automatic air blower feeding system;
- 1 pc Air Blower
- 1 or 2 Pcs rotary feeding valves with inverter control
- 1 or 2 Pcs flour feeding bunker with vibro-motor on it
- Metal pipes to carry the flour or semolina
- Jet Pulse filter

3-2) Pasta Dies

For every different shape of pasta you need 1 set of additional die.

3-3) Water filtering, softening and feeding system

For boiler, chiller and mainly in the pasta extruder you need drinkable soft water continuously.

3-4) Boiler Room to give over-heated water to the system
( 110
º C - 145 º C )
For using in shaker pre-dryer, dryers and other needed points.

3-5) Chiller for Cold water; feeding the cooler and extruder screw

For Cooler and cooling of screw you need cold water continuously.

3-6) Final product (dry pasta) silo and feeding elevators.

Before packing the pasta it needs minimum 6 hours resting for normalization, for this issue you need the silos.

3-7) Packing machine and feeding elevator ;

Packing machine is possible to be 1, 2 or 3 different type of packing. This depend on packing weights and packing shapes in your marketing.

3-8) Air Compressor

Compressed air mainly needed in packing and over heated water control valves and some other control valves.

3-9) Vacuum Pump and filters

In industrial pasta production lines there is vacuum mixer before the extruder and for this mixer you need a vacuum pumping unit with pump, filters, vacuum silo with water discharger.

3-10) Die washing machine

In end of every usage of dies you need to wash them in a high pressure die washing machine and keep it clean for the next usage.

3-11) Laboratory Equipments

For testing the final product there is many different laboratory equipment but the must important that you continuously use in pasta production factory is the pasta grinder and pasta and flour & semolina moisture analyzer.

HOW TO CALCULATE THE COST OF PASTA PRODUCTION WITH HEMAKS PASTA PRODUCTION LINES?

AVARAGE COSTS FOR 1000 KG DRY PASTA PRODUCTION?

 

* This costs can change depend on the capacity of hemaks line that you bought, this calculations are made from HMX 2250 with all equipment and supporting units with capacity of 2250 Kg per 1 hour.

1) RAW MATERIAL’S COST? Flour or Semolina + Water
1-1) Flour;
Average flour moisture in standard is 15 % and average final dry pasta moisture is 12%, so you have 3% lost from water. That means for 1000 Kg dry pasta , you need 1030 Kg flour.

1-2) Water; For 1000 Kg pasta production you need average 300 Liter water.

2) BOILER’S FUEL COST  or COST OF DRYING ?

In the drying you need overheated water for heating this water you need some think to burn; You need to use one of below written material to get this energy to have 1000 Kg dried pasta; You can select the cheapest one in your country.
20 Nm³ Natural Gas = 16 Kg (19,5 Liter) Diesel  = 17 Kg Fuel Oil

3) ELECTRIC COST ?

For 1000 kg dry pasta you need 80 Kw electric including all supporting equipment.

4) PACKING COST ?

For packing it can change depend on packing type and material but as an idea for the most usage in the word; If you use 500 Gr Opp-Cpp packing for 1000 Kg dry pasta packing you will need 10 Kg Opp-Cpp packing material.

5) WORKMANSHIP COST ?

For operating a pasta factory with 1 line (capacity will only change the packing side) for 1 shift you will need 5 workers in total. 1 of this 5 is operator as good skilled high salary worker that can coordinate all others.

PRODUCTION COST OF 1000 KG DRY PASTA = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5

HMX 2250 is producing 54.000 KG dry pasta per 1 day (24 hours)
